Madrasa Parent App in Bangladesh: the Sabaq Android App for Parents and Teachers
The Sabaq app is a free madrasa parent app for Bangladesh that shows a guardian their child’s attendance, fees and dues, exam results, hifz (Quran memorisation) progress and madrasa notices, and lets teachers mark attendance and enter daily records from their phone. It is on the Play Store (if the Play Store is not available on your phone, ask on WhatsApp and our team will help you install it). It works only with madrasas that use Sabaq; your madrasa gives you the login.

What does a parent see in the madrasa parent app?
After logging in, a guardian sees their child (or children, if more than one studies at the madrasa) and the information the madrasa has entered for them. Nothing is typed twice: what the office and the teachers record in Sabaq appears in the app.

For families of boarding students, and for relatives abroad who support a child’s education, this is usually the first time they can follow the child’s day without phoning the office.

What can teachers do in the app?
- Mark class attendance from the phone, which then appears in the office system and in parents’ apps.
- See their class list with student details and guardian phone numbers.
- Receive notices from the madrasa administration.
Marks entry, fee collection and accounts stay in the web system used by the office, where a keyboard and printer are available. The Bangla parent app feature page shows the screens.
Push notifications: the guardian’s phone rings by itself
Version 2.3.6 added push notifications, and it is the change guardians notice most. Six things now reach the phone the moment they happen, with no SMS cost to the guardian at all.
Attendance
The child was marked absent, so the guardian knows during the school day rather than in the evening.
Fee payment
A payment was recorded, with the amount and the months it cleared.
Results
The madrasa has published an exam result.
Notices
A notice went out from the office.
Leave decisions
A leave application was approved or refused.
Replies
Someone at the madrasa answered a message the guardian sent.
Tapping the message opens the relevant screen directly rather than dropping the guardian at the home page, and every message is kept in an inbox inside the app, so one that was swiped away by accident is not lost. Nothing here replaces SMS: the madrasa can still send SMS for guardians who do not use the app, and the two run side by side.
The app is not only for guardians and teachers
This surprises people. Admins and the staff who handle money can run most of the madrasa from the app: collect fees, print or share receipts, look at dues, and open reports. So a muhtamim travelling on a Thursday can still see the day’s collection, and a clerk can take a payment at the gate without walking back to the office computer.
Four things are on the web only for now, and it is better to know before you plan around them:
- Daily lesson evaluation, where the teacher marks the grid
- Online payment through SSLCommerz
- Assigning subjects to a particular teacher
- Setting permissions for one named user
Guardians still see the daily lesson results on their own web panel, so the information reaches them either way.
What the madrasa controls
What a guardian sees is not fixed by us. Each institution decides which parts of the app to open: some show dues and results but keep the ledger closed, others open everything. So if a screenshot on this page shows something your madrasa does not show, that is a setting, not a missing feature. Ask the office.
How do I install and log in?
- Install the app from the Play Store (search for Sabaq, package id com.sabaaq.sabaq_app) or, if the Play Store is not available on your phone, ask on WhatsApp and our team will help you install it.
- Ask your madrasa office for your login details. Sabaq does not issue parent or teacher logins directly; the madrasa creates them in its own account.
- Open the app, enter the details the madrasa gave you, and you will see your child’s record or your class.
- If something is missing or wrong in the app (a fee, a mark, an attendance day), the madrasa office corrects it in the system and the app updates.
Which phones does it work on?
The app is for Android phones. The Play Store version downloads only what your phone needs. It runs on ordinary mobile data. If our team helps you install outside the Play Store, Android will ask you to allow installation from this source; that is normal. We keep the Play Store listing current, and the madrasa office will tell you if an update is required.
Why does a madrasa parent app matter in Bangladesh?
Madrasa families are often spread out: the father working in another city or abroad, the child boarding at the madrasa, the mother at home. The office cannot phone every guardian every day, and a paper report card reaches home a few times a year. The app closes that gap with attendance, dues, results and notices on the guardian’s own phone, in Bangla. It also reduces the queue at the office for fee questions, because the amount due is already visible.
