Who is behind Sabaq madrasa software company in Bangladesh?
Sabaq is built by a small team working from Level 4, Titas Twin Tower in Moulvipara, Brahmanbaria Sadar, in eastern Bangladesh. The product began as a practical answer to a local problem: madrasas around us were keeping admissions, fees, chanda (regular community contribution) and hifz (Quran memorisation) records on paper or in Excel, and the general school software on the market did not speak their language, literally or organisationally. We wrote Sabaq in Bangla from the first screen, shaped it around jamaat (class level) structures, hifz registers and committee accounts, and kept the price at a level a small madrasa can afford. Today the same team builds the software, runs the hosting, records the Bangla tutorial videos and answers the support line.
What is our mission?
To give every madrasa in Bangladesh, whatever its size or system, honest accounts, reliable records and parents who know how their child is doing, without asking the madrasa to change how it works or to learn English. We measure that by three things: whether the office still uses the system a year after installation, whether the committee gets its monthly statement without chasing, and whether parents open the app. Software that is bought and then abandoned helps nobody, so installation always includes training, and support stays available by phone and WhatsApp afterwards.
Who uses Sabaq?
728 madrasas in 62 districts. The largest groups are in Dhaka, Chattogram, Gazipur, Cumilla, Mymensingh, Narayanganj, Rangpur, Gopalganj, Noakhali and Bhola, and the full list with each madrasa’s name and address is public on our Bangla client list page. Clients include Qawmi madrasas with hifz and kitab departments, Alia madrasas, standalone hifz and noorani madrasas, and Islamic schools. We do not publish testimonials with invented names; if you want to speak to an existing client in your district before deciding, ask us and we will put you in touch.
How support actually works
Support is the part of this business that decides whether software survives in a madrasa, and it is the part vendors describe most vaguely. So, plainly:
- Phone and WhatsApp, in Bangla, to a person who knows the software. Not a ticket form, and not English
- Installation includes training for the people who will actually use it, at the madrasa’s pace rather than one rushed session
- Bangla tutorial videos for the common tasks, so a new clerk in six months does not have to phone for the basics
- The same team that writes the software answers the line. That is a consequence of being small, and it is the main advantage of being small
The honest limit: we are a small team in Brahmanbaria, not a call centre. Late on a Thursday evening you may wait longer than you would at nine in the morning. We would rather say that than promise a number we cannot keep.
How updates reach you
Every madrasa runs on the same codebase, on hosting we manage. That has one large consequence: when a module is added, it appears for everyone, without an upgrade invoice, a new installation, or a version that some institutions are stuck behind. A madrasa that bought in 2024 has the same software as one that starts today.
Inside the software there is a plain Bangla list of what changed in each version, so the office can see the thing they pay for keeps moving rather than taking our word for it. The public version of that list is on the software updates page. Recent additions include daily lesson evaluation, online payment through SSLCommerz, boarding, HR and payroll, multi branch, and push notifications in the app.
What we will not do
A short list, because it explains more about a company than a mission statement does.
- We do not publish testimonials with invented names. If you want to hear from an existing client in your district before deciding, ask and we will connect you to a real one.
- We do not charge per feature. Every module is inside the plan. The only extras are things with a real cost behind them: SMS credit, RFID cards, biometric devices and a website.
- We do not claim your data is impossible to lose. Nobody can honestly claim that. What we do is run the hosting, take server side backups, and give you your data if you ask for it.
- We do not sell your data or your parents’ phone numbers. They exist to run your madrasa and nothing else.
- We do not disappear after installation. A madrasa that stops using the software three months in is a failure for us, not a completed sale.
How to judge any madrasa software company
Not only us. If you are comparing vendors, these are the questions that separate them, and you are entitled to a straight answer to all of them.
| Ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Who answers the phone, in which language? | A clerk at the counter on collection day needs Bangla, immediately. |
| Can you name madrasas already using it, in my district? | A public client list is harder to fake than a testimonial. |
| Is the price per feature, per student or per user? | A low headline figure that grows with use is not a low figure. |
| What do I get if I leave in two years? | Your records are yours. Ask before you need them, not after. |
| What changed in the software this year? | Software that stopped moving stopped being maintained. |
| Can I see it working with my kind of data? | A slide deck is not a demonstration. |
How does the reseller and representative network work?
Sabaq reaches madrasas outside Brahmanbaria mainly through district representatives and resellers. A representative earns a 40 percent revenue share on the subscriptions they bring in and sets their own installation fee for the local setup and training they provide. Representatives already serve several districts, including Khulna, Bhola, Rajshahi and Rangpur, and we are recruiting in others. Anyone with madrasa contacts and basic computer skills can apply through the Bangla reseller programme page. Where there is no representative, a madrasa is served directly from our office.
How do we work with NGOs, donors and partners?
Organisations that fund or oversee several madrasas sometimes ask us to set up Sabaq for a group of institutions at once, so that each madrasa keeps its own account while the sponsor gets consistent reports on attendance, fees and accounts. If that describes you, write to hello@sabaaq.com with the number of madrasas and districts involved and we will propose a plan. Each madrasa’s data stays in its own account, and any sponsor level reporting is arranged with that madrasa’s agreement.
